International Day for Preventing the Exploration of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict is held annually on 6 November since 2011. The aim of the day is to create awareness for the environment as a victim of war, to inform people about the damaging effects of war and armed conflict on the environment (impaired ecosystem and natural resources: water pollution, destroyed forests, poisoned soils ect.).
