Many times I tell people in a humourous tone; “School always gets in my way with life!” Of course school is very important to me and I do allocate a lot of my time towards my studies, but sometimes I just wish there were more hours in a day. Or maybe it’s a good thing that I have many activities in my schedule. The less you have of something, the more pleasure you get.
Well, I have been swamped these past few weeks with school and taking on new responsibilities with my extacurriculars. Stress is unnecessary and I often found myself going to the pool after my studies to swim some laps and reduce some negative tensions in my mind and body. Swimming is very relaxing to me.
Just this past weekend I was fortunate enough to actually have some time off for myself. I decided to go for a nice bike ride along my favorite bike route in the city…Tommy Thompson Park Nature Conservation Area and bird watching sanctuary!! I started the day with normal running then yoga and afterwards I went home for a bit and when I saw the beautiful sun I knew I had to bike!! So that’s just what I did and it was lovely as always.
Being close to nature is one of my favorite things. One of the greatest pleasures in life (in my opinion) is to just enjoy the simplicity of our Earth and take in every moment…whether it’s star gazing up north, swimming in the ocean, discovering a new hiking trail or just going for a walk in the park! To me, this is pure bliss.
